The Power Electronics, Drives and Machines Research Group is one of UK’s most active research group in designing, constructing and testing novel electric power drive trains for electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles in the UK. The Group has been recently awarded EPSRC funding to develop highly integrated power drive trains for electric vehicles. You will investigate design tools that optimise functional, structural and design integration of electric power drive trains. You should have a minimum of a first class Honours degree, or equivalent, in electrical, electronic, mechanical engineering or in physics and hold a PhD or have equivalent industrial experience. You will also have experience in thermal management and fluid dynamics. Furthermore, you should show good analytical skills and should be familiar with FE and CFD simulators
