Senior Lecturer in Informatics

The position refers to the area of Informatics, which at the University of Skövde is defined as the science that relates to how data, information and knowledge is created, represented and processed in humans and machines.
The position includes:
- teaching
- leading and developing education within the subject area
- applying for, implementing and disseminating research projects
- programme co-ordination
- supervising students in the first and second cycles
The allocation of teaching and research amount to 50 % each. After 2 years the result will be evaluated and a re-negotiation of the
allocation will take place.
Additional assignments might be included in the position.
The qualification requirements are:
- Doctor of Informatics or other relevant discipline or have the equivalent academic qualifications or other professional skills
that are of interest with respect to the subject matter and the tasks to be included in the position - proven pedagogical proficiency
- documented experience in teaching web technologies
- ability to teach in English and within 2 years to be able to teach in Swedish
In addition to the qualification requirements, the bases of evaluation for this position are:
- Degree of proficiency that is required for the employment (see qualification requirements)
- Certificate of completed training in teaching and learning in higher education or account for equivalent education
- Documented experience from independent research about web technologies
- Documented experience from web technologies in large-scale projects
- Ability to actively apply for external funding of research projects
- Documented experience in supervising students in the first and second cycles
- Good ability to initiate and lead activities
- Good ability to create new ideas, perspectives and insights
- Good ability to formulate strategies and concepts
- Good ability to present and communicate information in speech and writing
A great degree of importance will be attached to the applicant´s documented experience from teaching web technology, documented experience from independent research on web technology and proven pedagogical proficiency.
