Description of the work group/equivalent and its work/focus:
Karolinska Institutet is one of Europe's largest medical universities. We are offering one postdoctoral position in the field of Immunogenetics, working together with Professor Lennart Hammarström. The projects within Lennart Hammarström’s group focus on genetics of primary immunodeficiency diseases and immunotherapy.
The available postdoctoral position deal with:
1). Identification of new form of primary immunodeficiency through linkage analysis and exome sequencing, with focus on late B cell deficiencies.
2). Functional characterization of patients with defects in late B cell development. Area of responsibilities/duties:
The applicant is expected to be a talented and highly motivated researcher and he or she is expected to play a leading role in experimental design, experimentation, and presentation/publication of results. The candidate must be able to work within a team environment.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have:
1. A doctoral degree in the fields of Genetics, Immunology, or Bioinformatics
2. Demonstrated abilities in experiment design and interpretation
3. Demonstrated communication skills; proficiency in the English language
4. The ideal candidate will have extensive training in immunology, genetics, molecular biology or bioinformatics. Experience with large-scale, next generation sequencing data is an advantage.
