Luleå University of Technology (LTU) is seeking a
professor/associate professor in the area of “Sustainable management of
business and resources” at the division of Accounting and control,
Department of Business administration and Social Sciences. The position
is funded by LKAB Excellence Centre. LKAB is an international high-tech
minerals group, one of the world’s leading producers of upgraded iron
ore products for the steel industry, and a growing supplier of
industrial minerals products to other sectors. LKAB is now investing 50
MSEK to strengthen research at LTU. The funds will be used to establish
five new professors at Luleå University of Technology within
strategically important research areas for LKAB. The area “Management of
sustainable business and resources” within the research discipline
accounting and control is one of these.
Accounting and control
participate in many multidisciplinary research projects within different
industries where business and technology are linked together. Several
other disciplines at the Department of business administration and
social sciences carry out research related to the mining industry, e.g.
Economics, Quality and environmental management. At Luleå University of
Technology (LTU) research focusing on the mining industry is being
conducted within several research groups including the Hjalmar Lundbohm
Research Centre (HLRC). Collaboration is now being strengthened by the
new funding from LKAB to support advanced research at Ltu relevant to
the mining sector.

Accounting and control is designed to meet tomorrow's demands on the
relationship between business and technology in both teaching and
research. Within the discipline, the strategic area of “Management of
sustainable business and resources” aims at conducting applied
international research relevant to the mining industry; which may

The position
contains research and research supervision relevant to the strategic
area of “Management of sustainable business and resources” within
Accounting and control.
Qualifications
To
qualify for appointment as professor a person must have demonstrated
both scientific skills and pedagogical skills. Equal consideration shall
be given to the assessment of scientific skills as to pedagogic skills.
